Park City Après-Ski: A Local's Guide by Base Area

Where to go when the lifts slow down, from Main Street to Deer Valley, plus how Utah's rules shape après and how to get home.

Park City Après-Ski: A Local's Guide by Base Area

The last run is the best excuse in Park City. As the lifts slow down in the late afternoon, every base area fills with boots on patios, heaters glowing and someone ordering one more round of fries. Where you end up depends mostly on where you skied. Here's a base-by-base guide to après in Park City, with a few notes on how Utah's rules shape the afternoon and how to get home after.

Quick answers

  • When does après start? As the lifts wind down in the late afternoon. Popular patios fill fast on sunny days, so arrive on your last run for the fun.

  • Where should I go? Popular spots are around - Town Lift and Main Street, Park City Mountain's base, Canyons Village, or Deer Valley each have their own scene. Also places on your way out of town.

  • Are there drink specials? No. Utah doesn't allow discounted drinks, so you won't find a drink happy hour. Food deals are allowed.

  • Can kids come? Not to bars, which are 21+ only. Many restaurants and lodges welcome families.

  • How do I get home? Take Park City's fare-free buses or book a ride share.

Town Lift and Historic Main Street

Ski to the bottom of Town Lift and you're at the foot of Main Street, the easiest après in town to walk to and from.

The Bridge Cafe & Grill sits right at the bottom of Town Lift with a sunny patio, Brazilian caipirinhas, hot toddies and Utah craft beer.

Collie's Sports Bar & Grill, across from the Bridge Cafe, is the place for a game on TV and something fried.

No Name Saloon on Main Street is a long-running local institution, known for its bison burgers and a heated rooftop overlooking the street.

High West Saloon on Park Avenue, a short walk from Town Lift, pours cocktails built on its own Utah whiskey by a fire on the front patio.

Park City Mountain Village

At the main base of Park City Mountain, après is casual and loud in the best way.

Pig Pen Saloon, off the Home Run trail, is a sunny deck you can practically ski onto in the afternoon.

Canyons Village

On the Canyons side of Park City Mountain, the village has its own après scene, walkable from the gondolas even in ski boots.

The Umbrella Bar is the classic Canyons stop: an outdoor patio with live music, draft beer and wings.

Drafts Burger Bar, near Canyons Plaza, is a sports-bar and gastropub with a long beer list and plenty of screens.

Deer Valley

Deer Valley's après is more polished: think champagne, caviar and fireplaces. Remember that Deer Valley is ski-only, so snowboarders will want to head to Park City Mountain.

The Après Lounge at Montage Deer Valley is a slopeside yurt pouring champagne with caviar, cheese and charcuterie with a DJ.

The St. Regis Deer Valley marks sundown with a champagne-sabering ritual on its mountain terrace, reached by funicular. Along with the popular Vintage Room tent where bottles and table dancing are the norm.

RIME Seafood and Raw Bar, at the top of the Jordanelle Gondola, serves oysters and lobster rolls in a refurbished cabin.

The Sticky Wicket on the second floor of Silver Lake Lodge is the lively mid-mountain option with a retro vibe.

Après, Utah-style

A few rules make après in Utah a little different from Colorado or Vermont:

  • Bars are 21+. Bars scan every guest's ID at the door, and no one under 21 can enter, even with a parent.

  • No drink specials. Utah doesn't allow discounted alcohol at any time. You'll still find food deals, like oyster happy hours.

  • Two drinks at a time. At a bar, each guest can have up to two drinks in front of them at once if different spirits.

Getting home

Park City Transit has run fare-free buses since 1975, connecting Main Street, the resorts and Kimball Junction. Use them, or book a ride. After a day at altitude and a couple of drinks, the bus is the easy call.

After après: dinner and a proper glass

Once the patios empty out and the boots come off, Park City shifts to dinner. This year Tannin Bar is open 4-10 p.m. A favorite drink to order after a day on the slopes is an Aperol Spritz or a Chablis coupled with the chicken skewers!

Tannin Bar + Kitchen opens in November 2026, a Park City wine bar with New American small plates, oysters and caviar, cheese and charcuterie, and full entrées, alongside a full beverage list built to pair with the food. As a bar, we're 21 and over. Take a look at our menus.
